Most of you won't have heard of Repair Cafe's but they're basically free meeting places where people repair things together and there's lots of them popping up around the country and around the world (including here in Lancashire) in response to the throwaway culture that encourages us to throw things away that can be recycled, repaired and reused. They provide you with the tools and materials to repair anything from clothes and furniture to electricals and bicycles and they give people the opportunity to learn new skills, share knowledge and socialise with others.

There's also a few local repair groups who work a bit differently from the repair cafes but they still repair old items for individuals, to donate to community groups and to sell on.
West Fleetwood Computer Clinic - They give advice to people having issues with their computers, phones or tablets, offer a repair service and they donate old computers to the local community https://www.facebook.com/wfcomputerclinic
Sewing Cafe Lancaster - They're a repair cafe focused on repairing and recycling old clothes and fabrics and they produce goods to sell on. https://www.facebook.com/sewingcafelancaster
If there's any other groups you'd like adding to this blog post, let us know!
